I take way more pictures of Chicago murals than I can include in the regular Looking Around posts, so a lot of cool pieces are just sitting on my hard drive. They aren’t going to post themselves so it’s time to do something about it. Some are brand new, some a few years old, one is gone. A big “Thank you!” to the talented people who are bringing ideas to the public streets for everyone to see and enjoy.
Dredske in North Lawndale, 9/29/23. The plaque reads “Inspired by Buckminster Fuller and Mae Jemison: encouraging everyone on Earth to act as a harmonious crew working toward the greater good.”
Max Sansing in Woodlawn, 9/15/23. A segment of the larger 2019 Woodlawn Works project, a partnership of the Chicago Public Art Group and the Woodlawn Residents Association. The four artist mural stretches under the 66th & 67th street railroad underpasses.
J Renda in Logan Square, 7/31/23. This one is already gone. I don’t think it was up for a month before being painted over. Let’s get out to see things while we can!
