Sarah Paretsky’s Cubs loving detective Victoria Iphigenia Warshawski cleans up the problems of Chicago’s elite. In Indemnity Only, the first book in the series, Vic looks for the missing scion of a North Shore banking family. In V.I Warshawski (1991) , Kathleen Turner played V.I. protecting a strong willed tween against unidentified baddies, a reworking of the novel’s story.
