  1. Those houses at 1254-1262 W. Lexington St [street was formerly MacAllister Place] were built by my great grandfather, Wm J Onahan, after the Chicago Fire of 1871.

    I’ve only recently been digging into family history and found the buildings in a book entitled Chicago’s Mansions, by John Graf (where I assume you found them!). He arrived by ship in America in 1851 with his father and two sisters, arriving in New York, from Ireland via Liverpool. The Onahan Elementary School in Chicago is named for him.
